Reflecting

Its so real in my mind, seems just like yesterday... But Its been 3 years since I came so close to losing Korbin, I cant seem to shake the images out of my head. . . This time of year has been a little hard for me... I am learning to deal with it a little better, and I just keep trying to live each day to the very fullest!! I am so very blessed that I get to have Korbie at home even tho we have to do the hook up treatments every night, I try so hard not to complain about th...em. It could be a different ball game. Korb has come a loooooooong way! I am so proud of him in so many ways!! He is so eager to learn and try new stuff ( expect food) ... Its been emotional day (maybe next couple days) as I truly reflect on my blessings and i am truly so grateful what Our Heavenly Father has blessed me with, and the shoes he has allowed me to walk in, even tho they have given me blisters and I have wanted to take them off and try the pretty ones on, he brings me back to "my perfect fit" well worn shoes and guides me, holds my hand and blesses me and shows me amazing new things and how to coach/parent/nurse Korbin.. Yes we been through a lot... but I cant wait to see what the future holds!!!!

Korbin did GREAT during surgery!!! We got to come home late last night.
He has pain today, but seems happy. They were able to get all the infection and even took some of the bad tissue around the area. I will post some pictures in a minute.  It was really funny watching him while he was on the "happy " medicine lol

Korbin will have surgery Monday Morning in Iowa City. They are going to cut out the infection and bad skin around button. Then they will put button back in and pack his wound. They are thinking about 45mins in surgery. Unsure if he will stay over night or not, they have told me to plan on it but if everything goes good he could go home Monday evening. I will be packing his wound for a couple weeks as it heals. This strain of infection that he has will just not let go... Korbin does NOT know everything they are going to do. He only knows we are going to see "Dr. Josh" Monday and he is going to mess with his button. Please continue to pray for Korbin as he goes through these next few days, pray that pain will minimal, also pray for Mommy as I learn how to care for his wound.

spouse to be plublished back on 4-10-14

Its been awhile since I have wrote here... Korbie has been doing very well with his button. He is going every 6 months for surgery which they just replace the button. He is getting really good at the nightly treatments, sitting on the toilet for 60 mins its very hard! But he sure tries his best! We are preparing for the autism walk! Just a couple weeks away! Then mommy will graduate from college in May.  Mommy is strongly considering homeschooling Korbie next year.  There doesn't seem to be a class for Korbin. He is getting VERY tall! 9 years old and already 4 foot!!!
I will be honest I am not the greatest at keeping up on this blog.
On Sunday August 10, 2014 We made an emergency trip to Iowa City, where Korbin was admitted through the ER.  Korbie woke up Sunday morning with bright red skin and bleeding around his button.  He has some horrible infection around his button that they have been treating very agressively with IV antibiotics. Its been a long last 4 days of being in the hospital but Korbin has been a champ as always. They are watching a hole in the lining of his button way to see if it goes all the way through or not and to see if thats what cause the infection.  Milwaukee has been in very good good contact with them. I must say sleeping on a board has been such great fun, however I can certianly here my bed calling my name!!!
I must say I am not good at keeping up on this blog...
On Sunday Korbie was brought to Iowa City ER where he was admitted. Korbie woke up with bright red skin and bleeding around his button. He has some kind of horrible infection, they have been treating it agressively with IV antibiotics. They have been watching a small hole in the lining to see if it needs repaired, however they can not do surgery until the infection and swelling go down. So thats what we are waiting on now. Its looking ALOT better today!!!
